The Silly Name Game Returns!

“Fight Against Stupidity And Bureaucracy”

.

For a few weeks I have been running a short series of silly but amusing place names.

Today, on the same theme but slightly different, I have another selection of people and companies with just as silly names as the places we looked at.

Again the big question is why don’t they change them? I certainly would.

In the meantime I just laugh at them.

I hope you do too.

Enjoy!

  1. Canada has two Federal Members of Parliament. One is Art Hanger, who sounds as if he should be working in a gallery, rather than government. The other is a Canadian-born, ethnic Chinese, whose parents gave him a typical Chinese name, but transliterated it on the birth certificate, to read Inky Mark. He was upset when a newspaper columnist referred to his “odd name.”
